SCANNER INPUTS

Four physical input slots

Checking inputs

Names describe scanner priorities. Each scanner may also receive channels from other counties.

Mute excludes an input from listening, detection and automatic recording for everyone. Meters and diagnostic snapshots show capture before mute, so you can inspect noise on an unused input. Snapshots retain up to two minutes and count toward the recording limit.

Detection processing and agency input rules

Where may this agency's tones be heard?

Assign physical inputs explicitly. Scanner names do not restrict agencies or establish a county. Identical or nearby tones can be distinguished by their allowed inputs.

Continuous channel

Listen Live

Everything currently received by the scanner.

Two-tone channel

Arm Alert

Connected silence until a configured two-tone page is detected.

YOUR ACCOUNT

Listen by input

Choose continuous Live audio, selected-agency Arm alerts, or Off for each scanner. These choices follow your account in the browser, Windows app and Pi speakers.

The mix uses Armed buffering to retain page audio. DigiRig keeps its separate account's Arm/Live settings.

Loading tone sets…

Check an agency to monitor it; uncheck to pause it. Unchecked agencies stay in this list. Use “Remove from Arm Alert” in the Two-tone agency list to remove one. Your list and checkbox settings follow your account between devices.

This behavior is saved to your scanner account and follows you between devices.

Radio transmitter controls

For a Rapid radio connected to this account. The alert duration above is the listening window after tone detection. Quiet gaps release PTT; audio can restart transmission while that window is still open. These controls do not affect desktop or garage speakers.

The continuous limit is a ceiling, not a timer that holds PTT on. In Armed mode, reaching it ends the current radio page. The radio network may stop a transmission sooner. Short voice pauses are retained; each new transmission needs the radio’s startup time.

Arm, Live, Stop, listen mode, and agency settings follow your account across devices.

No channel selected

Only your listening volume on this device. Other listeners, admin audio levels, and Pi speakers are unchanged.

Playback troubleshooting

If audio will not start, copy a playback report to share for troubleshooting. It contains player events and connection results, not passwords or audio.

Playback report ready.

Pager programming analysis

Programming Reference

Compare each input's repeated scanner measurements with pager frequencies you know are correct. Several trusted agencies can build an advisory correction profile for estimating other pager tones. This never changes alert detection, its tolerance, or saved audio.

Your browser may pause this page when it is backgrounded or the device is locked. Keep the page open during initial testing.

Your welcome name

Choose the name shown in the scanner heading. You can use your name or an account label, such as Adam - Rapid Radios.

Leave blank to show your email address instead.

Sign-in email

Use an address you can access. Saving a different email signs you out on all browsers and computers. Sign in again with the new email and your existing password.

RAPID RADIO DISPATCH

Transmit volume

Set how loudly forwarded dispatch plays over the Rapid Radios. All administrators share this setting.

This adjusts audio sent to DigiRig after speech detection. Scanner boost, recordings, computer and phone listening, and automatic lights stay independent.

Output level Original level (0 dB)
QuieterOriginal level

Try 3 dB quieter at a time and compare dispatch with ordinary radio conversation. This control can reduce the original output level by up to 30 dB.

Dispatch announcements

In Arm Alert, play a saved announcement for each selected page. Listen Live continues to relay scanner audio.

Announcement routing

Unassigned active inputs and mono detections use the global fallback.

Each announcement follows the scanner input where the page was detected.

Loading announcements…

Announcements play sequentially. Waiting alerts expire after 60 seconds. Stop, reconnects and restarts discard pending alerts. Previews stay on this device.

Sound library

Star your best sounds to keep a shared favorites list. Favorites appear first in the routing menus; save routing to switch sounds.

Saving does not start a transmission. Changes reach upcoming audio automatically; sound already sent may finish at the previous level. The gateway indicator confirms the setting, not what a receiving radio hears.

Dispatch lighting

Manage every station here. Automatic lighting runs on the server even when you sign out.

Fresh dispatches only. Commands expire after 5 seconds. Missed commands are discarded, never queued for reconnect. Lights trigger when tones are recognized, independently of delayed audio playback.

Add a light in four steps

  1. Add lightChoose its station, room name and reserved IP address.
  2. PrepareConnect to the Shelly and set up automatic shutoff.
  3. TestWatch the actual light turn on for five seconds, then off.
  4. EnableConfirm the result and turn on dispatch lighting.
Before you start: Wi-Fi, IP address and wall switch

Have the Shelly installed and verify that the wall switch operates the light normally. Connect the Shelly to the station’s 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, install its firmware updates, and reserve its IP address in the router. Open that address in a browser to check it responds. The scanner server also needs access over the station network or VPN.

Each light needs its own reserved IP address. Use an existing station to share its dispatch agencies and light duration. Create a station only when you need a separate group of lights or dispatch rules.

Loads the latest saved stations and devices and clears the editing forms. Saved settings are kept. You’ll be asked before unsaved edits are discarded.

Add station

Once per station: choose the dispatch agencies and light duration. Adding another room? Select your existing station in Add light.

Dispatch agencies

1. Add light

Save the light here, then follow its setup steps below. It stays disabled until you finish the test and enable it.

Stations and devices

Normal wall-switch operation must be checked during installation. An already-on light without a timer is left on. A new dispatch restarts an active alert timer.

Recent activity

Latest 150 entries since server start. Full events also appear in the server log. A relay acknowledgment does not prove a bulb illuminated.
